1. 18 Aug. I’m A Dreamer wins the Beverley D Stakes, Group I ran at Arlington (USA). First Grade I for Hayley abroad. The 5 y-o mare, trained by David Simcock, hadn’t won since May 2011. HT: ‘It was brilliant, there was a fantastic atmosphere and it was nice to be on the big stage and be part of it. There were loads of people there and it's a lovely racecourse. Obviously to win a Group 1 anywhere is a thrill and I'm buzzing. This will keep me going for weeks.’ Photo: Vanessa Ng

2. 1 June. First ride in a Classic, the Derby. Cavaleiro, trained by Marcus Tregoning, ended last but hopefully there will be other chances in the next years: HT: ‘It is nice for any jockey to have a ride in the Derby, obviously I am thrilled. We are 100-1, and if you take out the first half a dozen in the betting we’ve got a chance!’ ‘My first Investec Derby ride ended in defeat for me and my mount Cavaleiro, but the experience was still amazing’.

3. 18 May. Momentary wins the Swettenheam Stud Fillies Trial, listed ran at Newbury. It was a great day for Hayley with two winners (Sir Patrick Moore, 40 -1 and Momentary 33-1). The 3 y-o filly, owned for H H The Queen, and trained for Michael Bell, was able to beat Shirocco Star, placed later in the Oaks, but unfortunately she can’t repeat again this good effort and was retired to the stud. HT: ‘It was very uncomplicated. She got in a lovely rhythm and kept on finding’.

4. Hayley won 92 races in Great Britain, a second best figure in her career after 2008. She got 66 wins during the Flat season and won the first Prolinx Lady Jockeys Championship, fighting until the last days of the season with Amy Ryan, winner of the Apprentice Championship. HT: ‘I apparently get a cheque for £5,000, which I am chuffed about, so am very grateful to the sponsors and everyone involved with the championship. It’s a generous prize and has added some real spice to the end of the season for us girls.’

5. 7 June. Hayley wins her first Group Race of the year with Caledonia Lady in the Sprint Stakes ran at York (it’s the first Group 3 won by her in GB). It was difficult with a non easy passage, but finally Caledonia Lady and Hayley got the first place. HT : ‘I thought she did it quite easily in the end. She would probably have won a bit more comfortably with a clearer run’.

6. 11 Aug. Second position for Hayley in the Silver Saddle, individual competition for Shergar Cup’s jockeys. She captained the girls’ team joined by American jockeys Chantal Sutherland and Enma Jay Wilson. There weren’t any win for the girls but Hayley got several places. HT days earlier: ‘I've done quite well with four winners, but I would like to win the trophy there (Silver Saddle for leading rider)’.

7. 13 Jul. Margot Did ran her last race at York. Hayley’s favourite filly was running badly and she was retired to the stud. ‘Margot Did will always hold very special memories for me. I was on board for all five of her wins, including of course her Nunthorpe win, in which she showed just what a good filly she was. It’s a shame her form didn’t continue this season but she owed us nothing and deserves a happy retirement. Hopefully I can get to ride some of her offspring in a few years time’.

8. September to November. Hayley  rides  and wins with promising 2 y-o like Shrewd, Hauntmas Close, The Lark, Oilinda or Ribbons. Maybe some of them become in a Classic runner next year. I like specially two fillies. The Lark, trained by Michael Bell, and Ribbons, trained by James Fanshawe

9. 21 May. Efistorm wins his 24th race, eight of them with Hayley on the ride. Not bad for a 11 y-o. HT: ‘Looking at him in the paddock, you wouldn't think he was a thoroughbred. He looks more like a pony, but he's got a great heart and is as genuine as they come.

10. 3 Oct. Forced Family Fun, trained by Michael Bell, becomes the 600th winner of Hayley’s career in GB. HT: ‘ I obviously never dreamed of riding that many winners when I started so these landmarks are nice reminders of how far I’ve come.’
